What
are the hardware requirements?
eDoX can normally be run using your existing network hardware. Workstations
require Pentium machines with at least 32 MB RAM (64 MB Recommended).
For multiple users you will need a network server running Microsoft
NT. If you have a large number of documents to store you may
want to add a large hard drive to your network for document
storage. As with any enterprise, you should also have an adequate
backup system in place. You will need a scanner with an auto-document
feeder for paper documents. Scanner speed will depend on your daily
scanning needs.
Are documents
stored in a proprietary format?
No, computer-generated documents are stored in their native format.
Image documents are stored as standard TIFF files viewable on any
Windows PC using the operating systems own imaging system. You can
export or email a document from eDoX and any user with a Windows
PC and the documents source program can open, view and edit almost
any document.
